It is our great pleasure to announce, that vACCBiH's greatest annual event, Sarajevo '84 Winter Olympics Rush - RE-WINDED, this year is going bigger and live from Sarajevo, the 1984 Winter Olympics Capital, celebrating 30th anniversary of the Sarajevo '84 Winter Olympics!

 

The event will be held at Saturday, February 8th 0700-2200z from Hotel Holiday Sarajevo - The Olympic Hotel. 

 

The event will hereby be in full Sarajevo '84 Winter Olympics spirit, as Hotel Holiday Sarajevo was built for the Sarajevo '84 Winter Olympics; we will full day have live broadcast from Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics; even our "control center" table layout will look like the squared Sarajevo '84 Winter Olympics logo and we will have 7 Former Winter Olympics Cities as Partner Airports.

 

 

The vACCBiH team will together with invited vACC teams from the region, local pilots and other guests, gather for an interesting weekend consisting of educational presentations and trips related to BiH aviation, as well skiing on the slopes of the Winter Olympic Mountains of Bjelasnica and Jahorina. 

 

But most important, being online fully staffed at Sarajevo/LQSA with support from RL Sarajevo ATCos, as well as having 7 Former Winter Olympics Cities Partner Airports, 7 Bonus Partner Airports, 1 Special Live Guest Partner Airport, 2 Feeder Airports and 3 Alternates online as inspiration where to fly and re-wind the Sarajevo '84 Winter Olympics Rush!

Once again many thanks to all for the support and co operation during Sarajevo '84 Winter Olympics Rush - RE-WINDED - live from Sarajevo! :-)

 

We had a great weekend, not only doing ATC for a event, but also meeting each other and seeing the Sarajevo/LQSA aviation in real.

 

Here are some of the first pictures from the entire event and program over the weekend. 

 

Note that special runway 12 VFR departures were used during that weekend due to strong southeastern wind, which made the virtual event fun for us, but also brought a lot of storm to the Sarajevo valley, preventing us from overflying Sarajevo/LQSA during the VFR flight. But instead we had the chance to see planes passing just above us, when preforming the left turn after VFR departure.

Visoko/LQVI-Sarajevo/LQSA VFR (C172 E7-AAM, 09.02.2014):

 

Thanks to a great co operation with our event partners, the participants got all this, 3 days of joy, free venue participation, great cheap accommodation, food & beverages with discount and the 30 mins VFR flight (at a special price), totally for around 75 EUR each - excluding their transport!
